Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data proforexbrokers.com collects through comments, logins, media uploads, and password resets, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

This is the privacy policy for proforexbrokers.com.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the data in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it, subject to Gravatar's own privacy policy. Once a comment is approved, your profile picture is visible next to it.

Media

If you upload images, avoid ones with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract that data from images published on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in a cookie so you do not have to re-enter them next time. These cookies last one year.

Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it holds no personal data and is discarded when you close the browser.

Logging in sets cookies to store your login and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, screen-option cookies last a year; choosing "Remember Me" extends the login cookie to two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.

Editing or publishing an article sets an extra cookie holding only the post ID of that article, with no personal data. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may embed content, such as videos, images, or articles, from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the source website directly.

Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you are logged in to an account there.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely, so follow-up comments from the same person can be recognized and approved automatically instead of held for moderation.

For registered users, if any, we store the personal information in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete that information at any time, except their username. Administrators can also view and edit it.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you provided to us. You can also request that we erase that personal data, except information we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
