iDEAL

Actualizat:

iDEAL is the standard online payment method in the Netherlands and funds broker accounts straight from a Dutch bank. The brokers below accept it.

No brokers currently list this payment method.

iDEAL is the Netherlands' dominant online payment method, owned by the Dutch banks and used for the majority of domestic e-commerce. Paying with it means selecting your bank, authorising a transfer in your own banking app, and returning to the merchant with the payment already confirmed. It is a bank transfer with a guarantee of finality, not a card payment.

Why it suits broker funding

The payment carries your own name and IBAN, so it raises none of the third-party questions that pooled e-wallet transfers do. It is irrevocable, which is why brokers credit it instantly. And it costs the merchant a fixed small fee rather than a percentage, so brokers seldom impose a minimum or pass a charge on.

Coverage and limits

iDEAL works only with Dutch bank accounts — every major Dutch bank participates, and no bank outside the Netherlands does. Limits are your own bank's daily transfer limits, adjustable in your banking app, and typically well above card limits.

Currency

iDEAL settles in euro. Funding a dollar-denominated trading account from it means the broker converts on receipt at its own rate. Traders funding regularly are usually better off holding a euro trading account, where available, and letting the conversion happen once at the point of trade rather than on every deposit.

Withdrawals

iDEAL is a one-way rail: there is no iDEAL payout. Withdrawals return by SEPA transfer to the account you paid from, which the broker will normally have on file from the deposit. Where it does not, expect to supply an IBAN and a bank statement before the first withdrawal is released — a step ProForexBrokers.com recommends completing at account opening rather than at the moment of first profit.

What to check first

Confirm the broker's SEPA withdrawal timeline and whether it charges for outgoing transfers. Deposit-side convenience says nothing about the withdrawal side, and the two are priced separately by most brokers.
