Bappebti

อัปเดตล่าสุด:

Bappebti regulates Indonesia's commodity futures market, the only legal route to margin forex for residents. The brokers below hold a Bappebti licence.

Brokers regulated by Bappebti

No brokers are currently licensed under this regulator.

Bappebti — the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi — regulates futures and margin trading in Indonesia under the Ministry of Trade. Margin forex is legal for Indonesian residents, but only through a Bappebti-licensed futures broker that is a member of a licensed exchange. Everything else is unlicensed, and Bappebti blocks unlicensed sites in volume.

What the licence requires

A futures broker must be an Indonesian limited company, hold Bappebti authorisation, be a member of the Jakarta Futures Exchange or the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, and clear through the associated clearing house. Paid-up capital requirements are substantial, and a portion must be maintained as a deposit with the clearing house. Sales staff must pass certification examinations, and the firm must maintain separated client accounts at banks Bappebti approves.

Central clearing is the structural difference from an offshore broker. An Indonesian client's position is registered with a clearing house rather than existing solely as a contract with the broker's own book.

Retail protections

Bappebti requires a documented client onboarding process including a risk-profile assessment, a mandatory demo trading period before a live account may be funded, and recorded confirmation that the client understands the product. That demo requirement is unusual internationally and is aimed squarely at the pattern of new traders funding accounts they do not understand.

Leverage is set within Bappebti rules and is generally offered at levels far above European caps, so the protection here is procedural rather than a limit on exposure.

If a broker fails

Client funds sit in separated accounts and margin is held at the clearing house, which is a stronger structural position than segregation alone. There is no cash compensation scheme comparable to the FSCS.

Verifying a licence

Bappebti publishes lists of licensed futures brokers and, separately, an extensive and frequently updated list of blocked unlicensed entities. The blocked list runs to thousands of domains. ProForexBrokers.com treats a Bappebti block as a firm signal, because the agency lists specific domains rather than brands.

Who a Bappebti broker suits

A Bappebti-licensed broker is the only legal route to margin forex for an Indonesian resident, with rupiah accounts, local bank rails and Indonesian-language support. Traders comparing one against an offshore brand are comparing a cleared, supervised position against an unlicensed one, whatever the offshore firm's own licence says.
