Why Trust Our Broker Reviews
The people behind this site's broker reviews have lost real money across forex, futures, and crypto before learning to protect it. This page explains that experience and why every review here starts from skepticism, not marketing.
Trading is a zero-sum game before it is anything else: money made by one trader is money lost by another, and no method makes money simply or consistently. That risk does not start in the market — it starts with the broker you trade through, because a broker with bad conditions can turn a sound strategy into a losing one. This page explains the experience behind that view.
Stage one: learning the market the hard way
Every trader starts here — building a first trading model, learning technical analysis, and realizing that a few hours of trading can outearn a month of work. Deposits that multiply quickly can vanish just as quickly, which is when risk management stops being theory.
A broker is not on your side at this stage: it profits from client losses and uses bonuses and promotions to push you into taking more risk. Forex is also lightly regulated in much of the world, and well-run brokers do not always hold licenses in every jurisdiction, because doing so is expensive and complex.
Local regulation is not a guarantee either. In some countries it does little to protect traders and instead props up a licensed broker that no longer has to compete — it can offer poor trading conditions with no consequence, because clients have nowhere else regulated to go. The result is a real dilemma: an established, regulated local broker, or an offshore one with better conditions but less legal recourse. There is no shortcut past this choice — only more information to make it with.
Stage two: futures, crypto, and the lessons that stick
After enough drained deposits and abandoned brokers, two lessons settle in: never keep all your capital with one broker, and lower margin usage improves your odds of staying in the game. Consistent, low-risk profit is still out of reach at this stage, but a steady approach starts to matter more than the size of the win.
Stage three: protecting what you've made
Further along, the goal shifts from making money to not losing it. Even a well-regulated, reliable broker can fail — money held with any broker carries some risk until it is back in your hands. See how we score that reliability for every broker we review.
