Alpari has been in retail forex since 1998 and is one of the longest-established brands in the industry, offering Standard, Micro and ECN accounts on MetaTrader 4 and 5 with an extensive copy-trading and PAMM programme.
The brand's history includes a significant episode: Alpari UK entered insolvency in January 2015 following the Swiss National Bank's removal of the euro floor, when client losses on CHF positions exceeded the firm's capital. UK clients were covered by the FSCS up to the scheme limit — which is exactly the protection an offshore entity does not provide, and the clearest available illustration of why the entity matters.
The current operating entity is registered in Saint Vincent, with high leverage and no such backstop.

Verification requires photo ID and a proof of address, usually cleared within one business day and required before the first withdrawal.
Saint Vincent registers companies but does not license or supervise forex business. There is no leverage cap, no conduct rulebook and no compensation scheme. The 2015 UK insolvency is worth holding in mind here not as an argument against the brand but as a demonstration of what a compensation scheme does when a broker's capital is exhausted by a single market move.
